Loneliness is a well-documented issue that impacts seniors’ mental health and their physical well-being. Founders Shreya and Saffron believe there is something we can all do to help the situation and established Letters Against Isolation during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then LAI has expanded to serve senior communities across the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.
LAI's mission is to fight senior loneliness one letter at a time through handwritten messages of love, hope, and joy. Since April of 2020, more than 75,000 people in 15 countries have volunteered with the organization, sending more than 1 million cards and letters around the world.
We’re proud to partner with students, universities, corporations, libraries, care facilities and more in a variety of ways to keep bringing kindness, creativity and cheer to thousands of seniors each week.
