LevelUp! Nottingham

LevelUp is a monthly meetup aimed at providing better opportunities and guidance to those who wish to embark on a career in tech. Although we’ll primarily focus on working with people who’d like to get in to software or web development, we’ll also be able to offer support with other areas like Web Design, Testing, etc. Our aim is to meet up once a month to discuss the best ways to break in to the industry, overcome challenges, and bring together like-minded people who love technology but aren’t quite sure how to secure their first role. Not only will we offer guidance and help with starting a career in tech, but we’ll regularly have speakers from local companies (big and small) who will pop in to talk about what they do, what they look for in a graduate/junior, and also discuss the latest trends in the world of tech. In addition, you’ll also get the chance to beef up your portfolio and improve your skills – once every 3 months, we’ll organise our very own mini-hack where you’ll work alone or with other people in the LevelUp community to put your skills to the test, work on fun projects, and win prizes that’ll help you get the best start to your career. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first year student, just about to graduate, or you’re not even a student. If you’re looking for a career in tech, we’ll help you on your way and you’ll hopefully make some new friends as well!
