I've been working in the production industry for almost 20 years. I started as a production assistant in 2001, and since then have worked in almost every area of production. I'm what you call a production Swiss army knife, if you will. In 2007, I started my own casting company, Grasshopper Casting. As the media landscape changed and viewers began to consume information differently, it became clear that traditional casting methods were only helping to tell part of the story. So, I shifted my focus to finding real stories and the real people that go with them to provide clients with the most authentic version of the story they are telling. This is where I excel and what makes me an invaluable part of the production process as a casting director, field producer, and storyteller. Having worked on a myriad of projects, from ultra-low-budget indie films to multi-million dollar advertising campaigns for global brands, my knowledge base has been stretched to the farthest reaches of producing. I have extensive experience researching, interviewing, and booking subjects, securing locations, booking crews, and managing budgets. I take the 50,000-foot view of a project and adequately spot potential problems before they arise. I instill confidence and foster comradery within my crews. I take pride in leading with a solution-based mindset, a positive attitude, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a healthy work environment and successful productions. My approach to production is very much in line with my approach to storytelling; even the mundane can be spectacular if you just have the right people.
