LexiQamus

LexiQamus is a linguistic analysis tool developed specifically for analyzing Ottoman Turkish, first published on June 7th, 2016. It has the following main functions: ◼ It deciphers words that are difficult to read for various reasons, ◼ It finds the correct word even if the user misspells it during a search, ◼ It shows the definitions of words from several dictionaries, ◼ It unearths hidden meanings that are not known even by authors, ◼ It provides access to different spellings of a word that even Ottoman intellectuals may not have known about. With all these features, LexiQamus has quickly gained the support of many reputable institutions in Turkey and around the world. Under the project, dictionaries are being digitized in a flawless and detailed way and the search algorithm is constantly being improved.
