LGBTQYMRU

In response to Covid 19 lockdown, and in the absence of any other all-Wales on-line Pride events, LGBTQymru formed to bring about the first-ever Wales-Wide Virtual Pride which we launched in May and delivered in July 2020. LGBTQymru was formed by a group of volunteers as a not-for-profit group. Our mantra was, and continues to be, ‘for the community, by the community’. As a newly established group, we were delighted (and extremely proud) with our success which saw: • over 30,000 views on our channels; • over £3,000 raised for community groups and grassroots projects in Wales; and, • the communities of Wales altogether, all at once, all in one space. In the spirit of continuing to support, celebrate, and connect the LGBTQommunities of Wales, we are on a mission to continue bringing new and exciting initiatives and opportunities to ensure we create a space in which we, LGBTQ+ people, exist, in which we are seen, and in which we can be ourselves.
