Nel 1918 Luigi Giovanelli avvia a Legnano (MI) un'officina per la costruzione di piccole macchine utensili e, negli anni tra il 1920 e 1925, realizzando un suo desiderio iniziale, entra nel settore delle macchine per la preparazione alla tessitura con la realizzazione dei primi orditoi a frazione e delle prime cantre a défiler, macchine innovative per le tessiture italiane che, in quel periodo, non potevano importare macchinario dall'estero a causa del regime autarchico allora vigente.
Oggi la LGL Engineering coadiuvata dalle società della famiglia Giovanelli e la collaborazione di alcuni costruttori meccanotessili italiani è presente in oltre 25 paesi ed è in grado di fornire macchinari per la preparazione di tessuti tecnici e tradizionali, carrelli per la movimentazione di subbi e rotoli oltre ad una vasta gamma di impianti per lo stoccaggio e la logistica all’interno dei reparti.
In 1918 Luigi Giovanelli set up a society for the construction of small machine tools in Legnano (MI) and, in the years between 1920 and 1925, realizing his initial desire, he entered the sector of machines for preparation for weaving with the realization of first fractional warpers and the first “défiler” crell, innovative machines for Italian weaving that, at that time, could not import machinery from abroad because of the autarchic regime then in force.
Today the LGL Engineering assisted by the Giovanelli family companies and the collaboration of some Italian textile machinery manufacturers is present in over 25 countries and is able to supply machinery for the preparation of technical and traditional fabrics, trolleys for the movement of beams and rolls as well as a wide range of facilities for storage and logistics within the departments.
