About Li4LIFE EU Project

The Li4LIFE project creates of an efficient technology for extracting lithium from underutilized deposits, as well as post-mining tailings. This technology will form the basis for future clean energy development. To meet the needs of the EU Battery Industry, Li4LIFE aims to increase the EU domestic supply of local raw materials by at least 5% by 2030. This will be achieved by creating an innovative value chain for domestic lithium raw materials. Li4LIFE plans to achieve this by using novel processing methods and purifying the lithium up to battery-grade lithium carbonate, thereby overcoming existing barriers such as the lack of a sustainable social license to operate (SLO) and compliance with EU environmental laws.
