In May of 2017, Neil Himmelstein and Lawrence Scherer created LIAFPN, the Long Island Accountants and Financial Planners Network. They recognized the need for a resource that could help financial professionals stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of planning, and began to organize educational, networking and charity events. This was the inception of LIAFPN.
Later in 2017, Larry Bloom brought his esteemed skills as a CPA to the table and joined Neil and Lawrence in building LIAFPN from a Tax Planning perspective.
LIAFPN continues to hold these meetings today where each member brings their unique perspective and expert skill set to the table.
LIAFPN’s mission is to offer a think-tank like environment for financial professionals where they can excel through shared knowledge, experience and wisdom.
