In Egypt, Libya Oil Egypt is the local affiliate of the OiLibya Group and has been present in Egypt since 1994 in the bunkering sector and since 1997 in oil retail. While it is now present across the African continent, Egypt was one of the first countries in which the OiLibya Group started downstream business. The company started downstream operations under the TAMOIL brand in 1994 and changed to the OiLibya brand in 2004 by the incorporation of Libya Oil Holdings Ltd. Libya Oil Egypt is engaged in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products and derivatives, operates in the oil retail sector through the ownership and management of service stations, and is also involved in the Marine and Aviation sectors. The company entered a partnership with Total in 2012 to form a JV entitling Libya Oil Egypt to hold a 35% interest in operating the Oil Products Storage and Blending Alexandria – OPSBA. OPSBA is a lubricants blending plant with annual production capacity of 40,000 cm and 8,000 cm of oil products storage capacity.
