LIFEbyDesign Foundation

LIFEbyDesign Foundation (“the Foundation”) is a non-profit organisation based in KwaXimba Village, The Valley of a Thousand Hills (near Cato-Ridge, Durban Outer West), KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. The Foundation was established to look after the needs of the community, targeting youths. The founders of the Foundation identified a number of inter-related issues in the community that need urgent and strategic intervention. These issues include the following:  Youth Despondence and Low Pass Rates at the schools in the area  Increase in substance abuse and unemployment  Prevalence of HIV Infections, as it is in the province The Foundation adopts schools in the area, and engage both Educators and Learners in non-academic Programmes to both inspire excellence as well as incite positivity in the youths that are still in the basic education system. The programme is a full year programme with classes and development sessions on Saturdays. The sessions and classes include:  Emotional Intelligence Development  Appropriateness  English Proficiency and Comprehension  Study Techniques  Communications (Written and Spoken)  Mentoring for Success  Substance Abuse and Sexual Health Discussion  etc
