LIFE FAGESOS project addresses the critical challenges posed by global climatic changes, aiming to mitigate one of the most severe threats - the outbreak of Alien Invasive Plant Pathogens. Our focus lies in safeguarding forest ecosystems, particularly those facing the escalating impact of Phytophthora diseases. In the Mediterranean basin, evergreen oak and chestnut ecosystems are witnessing a surge in these diseases, fueled by rising temperatures and an increased frequency of extreme weather events. LIFE FAGESOS recognizes the urgent need for improved tools and strategies to empower challenged forest ecosystems.
