Philippa has a business background and a large family, so understands the challenge of keeping equilibrium across the two. She ran her own business servicing the financial services industry for 32 years, which was demanding, and often stressful.
She and various members of her family have suffered with health conditions that the conventional medicine approach was unable to sort. This led her to functional medicine, an approach to health that is about getting to the root cause of problems rather than merely treating the symptoms, while appreciating that disease emanates from the loss of homeostasis (balance) in one's biochemistry.
Functional Medicine is Philippa's principal passion and she brings a considerable knowledge of its protocols to her coaching clients. Her coaching training at the Kresser Institute on a program designed by Chris Kresser, is renowned for being demanding by coaching standards, and with a strong functional health component.
