Life Reentry exists to redefine grief and change the consequences of an outdated understanding of loss, which results in a prolonged and unhealthy mode of survival. This unhealthy mode of survival has tangible negative repercussions for health, personal and social wellbeing.
OUR VISION
Our vision is two fold. First, to bring forth a new thinking in addressing loss as an intrinsic and foundational part of the human condition. As well as to make new beginnings accessible to all who are in need, and in doing so eradicate discrimination against someone’s right to begin anew due to race, gender and financial status.
Christina Rasmussen founded the Life Reentry Foundation in 2021 to provide access to new beginnings to everyone regardless of their socioeconomic status, gender or ethnicity. To also boldly replace an outdated model of grief by establishing a pathway out of what she coined the waiting room.
She first developed the Life Reentry Model in 2010, 4 years after her 35-year-old husband died of stage 4 colon cancer. Her own devastating experience of grief catapulted her towards a long but necessary journey bridging the gap between grief and life.
