LIG Nanowise is a Manchester based scientific instruments company founded in 2014, developing world leading product offerings in microscopy and nanopatterning. We apply microsphere lens technology to diverse applications from imaging to industrial manufacturing. Microspheres will become a super material at the heart of some of the most important innovations in the optics space. We developed the world’s most powerful brightfield microscope; the NANORO M, which can achieve 50 nm resolutions purely through glass and light. This utilises SMAL (Super-resolution Microsphere Amplifying Lens) technology to provide new insights into nanostructures - non-destructively, in full colour, rapidly and with no sample preparation. This has major applications in materials science research, microelectronics and 2D materials imaging. We launched this product in June 2017 through our imaging brand NANORO to international media aclaim. We are also developing a best in class particle lens array that can produce nanoscale patterns rapidly and repeatably with high precision over a wide area, with applications in microfluidics, semiconductors and bank note security.
