Light-and-Innovation

Prof-Dr Marc Fontoynont dedicates his professional carreer to light and lighting. He has conducted research activities and education tasks in various universities in France, Denmark, USA, Canada, Swizzerland. He has also conducted lighting design activities for museums, commercial buildings, public buildings, housing, Lighting Master Plans and led international research programs dealing with energy efficiency and innovative technologies in lighting. He now runs consulting activities at Light and Innovation, based in France, focusing on training professionals groups and developing innovative communication narratives. He is recipient the Fresnel Medal and the Alfred Monnier Lighting Awards (France), nominated for ELFORSK prize (Denmark, 2017). He was co-manager of the Master of Lighting Design at Aalborg University (DK) which obtain the PLDC award for best Lighting Education (2017). Marc Fontoynont is happy to give his best to help any organization with ambitions about lighting quality of various indoor and outdoor spaces. He proposes workshops, seminars, development of narratives for communication He enjoys collaborative work with final clients, designers and teams in R&D, Marketing, or Communication. He proposes stimulating interactive exercises largely based on critical analysis of scenes presented in images and videos. Through his career, he worked on an extremely wide range of cases, on daylighting and lighting techniques, color perception, glare, optical optimization, etc. He built his own data base of images, measurements, and can refer to results he published in about 80 scientific papers. Also he proposes lighting calculation approaches based on analysis of pictures taken using specific wide angle lenses.
