Light Us

The MIPAI Institute launched «Light Us», a concrete initiative to help fight global warming. In fact, the MIPAI Institute members designed and manufactured a universal symbol, a Photovoltaic and Intelligent Torch that will be transmitted from one COP organizing nation to the other, similarly to the Olympic Flame. The Torch will travel from COP to COP on a sustainable means of transportation. MIPAI provided the first relay by bringing Light Us from Paris (COP21) to Marrakech (COP22), on a series of seven TESLA electric cars, and presented the Light US concept during the COP22. Through this report, we offer to illustrate the first stage of this formidable adventure through photos taken during the event. The Torch Light Us, a new Symbol of the Fight against the Global Warming, made the headlines in Marrakech. It gained the sympathy of many COP22 actors, and the support of prominent personalities, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of COP22, Salaheddine Mezouar and the President of the French Republic François Hollande. This success was reflected in the great media coverage of Light Us, which we hope has contributed to raise awareness for global warming in many countries. The Torch that participated in the COP22 was a prototype. We are currently working on the next version of Light Us, which would be photovoltaic, smart and connected Torch, and is planned to be released before the COP23. With this in mind, we are already preparing the electric caravan that will take Light Us from Marrakech (COP22) to Bonn, Germany, where COP23 will be held under the chairmanship of Fiji.
