OUR STRENGTH IS IN OUR VALUES Lighthouse American School aims to put its students in the center, making them become leading actors in their learning processes. We aim to incite their curiosity and desire for experimentation, acquiring deep and significant learning. We want to guide them through the path of creativity and innovation, towards a brilliant future, all while experiencing a joyous environment. Lighthouse American School is located in Aravaca, an exclusive residential area of Madrid. It is close to the city, with easy access both by car and public transportation. Although it´s only a step away from the big city, Aravaca is a nice quiet neighborhood, with many green spaces and recreational areas. Lighthouse American School is placed in a 1.2-acre property, full of gardens and centenary trees. We've created an ideal place for the growth and development of a community. WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT Our values are not only pretty words written on a piece of paper. We articulate them through six action plans: the design of the space- both in and outdoors- contents, educational methodology, school´s organization and technology. We do not ask for teachers and parents to believe in us just out of an act of faith, on the contrary, we are implementing specific initiatives that will support and promote all our values. Our learning methodology is at the forefront and we use six basic strategies to achieve that: Learn by doing, deep learning, active body – active mind, talent search, skills for the future and undertaking.
