Lighthouse Green Fuels

Lighthouse Green Fuels (“LGF”) is located on Teesside and will be the UK’s first commercial-scale facility producing advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (“SAF”). LGF will utilise gasification and Fischer-Tropsch technologies to create a synthesis gas (“syngas”) from nationally sourced biogenic wastes and residues before processing into SAF. With feedstock processing capacity of over 1.5 million tonnes annually, LGF will also be Europe's largest advanced SAF facility, accelerating the national scale-up of SAF production and its wider adoption needed to decarbonise the aviation sector. The facility will be fully enabled to utilise local carbon capture infrastructure, offering up to 200% lifecycle greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions savings compared with conventional fossil-derived jet fuel every year. LGF is being developed by Alfanar Group, a privately owned and globally renowned company headquartered in Saudi Arabia.
