Lightsphere is an independent lighting design office based in Zurich. As a partner of architects, interior designer, investors and operators, we develop interdisciplinary lighting design concepts for interior and exterior spaces of any size: design-oriented, precise, sustainable and always customer orientated.

Light is more to us than just a physical quantity. It is our daily source of inspiration, a metaphysical instrument, a tool of aesthetic expression and a means to understand the form and time. The sensible use of natural and artificial light requires a multifaceted approach. Therefore, lightsphere understands lighting design as a synergy between architecture, psychology, science, art, and technology.

For the implementation of lighting solutions within interior and exterior areas, we work according to the planning phases and guidelines of the Swiss Engineering and Architects Association SIA and the code of conduct of the International Association of Lighting Designers IALD. Important for us is a high integrity of the lighting solution within the given architectural structure, as well as the specific coordination of the lighting solution to the user requirements, investment costs and maintenance.
daylighting design
In architecture, daylight is used systematically to enhance the natural lighting inside the interior space and to optimize the energy consumption of the building. The dynamics of sunlight throughout the day and year represents the special appeal, but also the specific challenge. In our planning and consulting services, we consider the daylight holistically.
innovation
Lightsphere is also engaged in the research field, creating a continuous dialogue with the stakeholders to consider the evolution and innovation of lighting design, within architecture, art and science.
