BehanBox is a digital media platform for gender journalism. We tell stories of women and gender diverse persons at the intersection of data, policy and law. Our mission is to tell stories and look at every critical issue from local to national level with a gender lens which is currently missing from mainstream media narratives.
Our research, ground reportage and analysis in print and audio format is original and data driven with a particular focus (but not limited to) to political and economic participation, climate change, women’s rights and all forms of gender-based violence.
Through our work we are in the process of creating a first of its kind gender data and policy repositories in India from publicly available sources and targeted data collection to tell data stories.
We partner with local women journalists and collectives for sustained reporting of untold stories of women especially from semi-urban and rural India
