LionVolt is an innovative battery scale-up company focused on developing 3D Lithium Metal Anodes on a 3D anode sub structure which can be applied in next generation lithium-ion, sodium-ion and solid-state battery cells to significantly boost existing cell energy density. The company was founded in 2020 (as a spin-out from TNO) and builds on a decade of R&D work with roots in 2014. In 2024, LionVolt demonstrated the potential of 3D electrodes and developed its first structured battery cells and opens it’s pilot line in March 2025.
