Did you know that 80% of people's health outcomes depend on where they live? In some Hampton Roads' neighborhoods, residents' life expectancies are 20 years shorter than those of people living in more affluent nearby neighborhoods. LISC Hampton Roads is working in multiple ways to improve this outcome.
As one of the newest affiliates of LISC, a 41-year-old national Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we strive for all Hampton Roads residents to lead healthy, economically stable lives. In our region we do that by supporting:
• career development and financial literacy programs that help people earn higher wages and grow their assets;
• affordable housing so residents have great places to live, and;
• small businesses so communities can grow their economies.
