Our Journey!
ListenWorks was born during the COVID-19 breakdown. We want to provide everyone with accessible mental health services. We are noticing that practicing physical distancing is becoming difficult for people. The pandemic along with it brought distress, worries, and fear. Being mental health professionals (psychologists) we want to contribute by helping people alleviate distress during this crisis.
We realized that one of the ways we can help our community was by providing an ear to lend! Thanks to technology our goal is achievable. We use video calling and telephonic counselling services to aid everyone who is finding it difficult to manage their mental health.
For children, the changes caused by the pandemic differ from those for adults. They are explorers and are currently restricted to staying in-door. Being in a technology-savvy world we have opened the “Virtual Activity Club” for kids. We are organizing long distant play dates where they get an opportunity to explore new ways of interacting with their peers by engaging in brain-stimulating activities facilitated by us.
