Lime Lab is a low-profit LLC organization offering coding and robotics training in the city of Detroit, since 2015. Our mission is to equip the next generation of girls with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in a technology-driven world. Through our partnerships with the Michigan Science center and the Detroit public library branches, we have offered FREE in-class instruction to over 1000 girls and reached over 10,000 girls through multiple outreach events. LIME Lab is a founding community partner of the STEMinista program of the Michigan Science Center, Detroit. Pre-pandemic, our focus was on providing hands-on learning programs in coding and robotics, using the Arduino microcontroller and the Python programming language. However, we recognize the increasing significance of data science and its impact on various sectors, such as industry, government, and society. Therefore, now we are expanding our offerings to include classes in Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Visualization, Databases, and Artificial Intelligence. We envision a world where technology is an enabler of the many and not merely a tool for entrenching existing inequities. The scale of challenges we wish to tackle is large and we are looking to leverage help from any quarter and in any form. We believe that only together can we contribute at a scale that makes a difference. We are excited to partner with anyone who shares our vision of technology as an amplifier of human potential.
