Our mission is to help individuals with disabilities or other needs utilize assistive technologies so they can maintain or improve their independence at home, work, school and community. We provide assessment and training for use of assistive technology in the individual’s own environment to help ensure the best possible outcomes.
Our approach is unique in that we use teams of advanced-level experts working together to consider the whole person along with their whole need in their own environment. Conducting assessments and training in the environment where the supports, skills and/or devices will be used, rather than in a clinic or office setting, is a critical aspect of selecting the correct AT tools for an individual and providing the right training. This contrasts with the medical model of service delivery where service delivery occurs in offices or clinics where a person’s interaction with their environment cannot always be adequately evaluated.
Our team includes Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Nurses and Engineers, all with AT background. This allows us to more fully evaluate all aspects of an individual’s AT needs.
