In 2013 RKS CEO, Ravi Sawhney challenged his team at RKS, a leading Design and Innovation firm he founded in 1980, to uncover societal needs that design could innovate for and resolve. The exploration by RKS Design, generated dozens of needs that design could mend, however, the concept of fixing the damage caused to our youth by student loan debt stood out above all. Wanting to change the tide of student debt and provide a lifeline to those caught in the undertow of debt, LoanGifting was conceived. The concept of LoanGifting began as a revolutionary way for friends, family, employers and others to join together to offer a helping hand to conquer student debt. This innovative system was created to channel our youth, who are full of brilliance and commitment with those who are determined to help them enjoy their lives debt-free quicker than imagined. The motto at RKS is, “it’s not how you feel about the design or experience, but rather how it makes you feel about yourself”, and Ravi brought that same belief to LoanGifting. It’s executive advisory team joined the mission and the dedicated LoanGifting team including; Dr. Bob Deutsch, a cultural anthropologist and one of our country’s most insightful minds; Kelly Kimball and Don Armstrong, two accomplished technology entrepreneurs; Robert Hayman, another successful entrepreneur and renowned marketing leader; Yakin Patel, our co-founder with his decades of technical experience; and Sunil Dhir, a professional business consultant and entrepreneur who guided Ravi to create RKS over three decades ago. Our team is building multiple pathways for all Americans holding student debt to come debt-free sooner than expected and providing a way for all to live the lives they've worked so hard for!
