ENG - Astrid Bitzer is the founder of 'Lob the Ball, to Ace Lobular Breast Cancer.' Astrid Bitzer-Stoltenborg has been living in Pittsburgh since 1996, but is originally from Silvolde. After her diagnosis of stage 2 lobular, tubular, and ductal breast cancer in 2022, she has dedicated herself as a patient advocate. Her goal is to educate men and women about lobular breast cancer, including detection and treatment. The Lob the Ball foundation provides financial support for research at the Derksen Lab at the University of Utrecht and collaborates with medical professionals and other patient advocates to raise awareness and promote treatment plans. Na haar diagnose van stadium 2 lobulair, tubulair en ductaal borstkanker in 2022 heeft ze zich ingezet als patient advocate. Haar doel is om mannen en vrouwen te informeren over lobulair borstkanker, inclusief detectie en behandeling. De Lob the Ball-stichting biedt financiële ondersteuning voor onderzoek aan het Derksen Lab aan de Universiteit van Utrecht en werkt samen met medische professionals en andere patient advocates om bewustzijn te creëren en behandelingsplannen te bevorderen.
