As localists, we believe that spending locally enhances our own lives and the lives of those around us. We would love to shop locally just a little more often. But the logistics of doing so are challenging, at best. And it certainly isn't easy to shop locally online either. So, we are left with the same old unsatisfying online buying process that we've become accustomed to.
Our Mission is to connect shoppers who crave a local shopping experience online to local independent merchants in Oakland and beyond. Our "Motiv" is to change the world for the better by helping "localist" shoppers access independent retailers and their inventories all over the US. We know that every dollar spent locally means: local economic growth, stronger communities, and less impact on our environment.
