Local Transit is a commercial passenger vehicle company and bus operator with full accreditations from Bus Safety Victoria (BSV) and Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria (CPVV). Local Transit is also an officially certified Work Integration Social Enterprise under Social Traders and People and Planet First. We work to benefit our community with a two-pronged impact strategy; (i) by providing people living with disabilities and other mobility restrictions an innovative, accessible and personalised customer journey experience, including linkages with accessible public transport networks. (ii) by providing drivers in low socioeconomic areas reeling from chronic underemployment a reliable pathway to full employment, development, and income opportunities. Since launching two years ago, Local Transit has provided over 15,000 trips for more than 3,000 patrons living with a disability. It has also provided over a million dollars worth of job opportunities and direct income for affiliated drivers.
