At Locbio, we specialize in the development of new Synthetic Biology tools. We have created an innovative technology to reprogram cells, as a result of over 17 years of basic research at the Institut Pasteur of Montevideo dedicated to understanding how bacteria perceive their environment and make decisions. Using protein engineering tools and artificial intelligence, we design tailored biosensors that enable the “reprogramming” of natural cells to perform specific therapeutic actions.
We create customizable live biotherapeutic products (LBP) that offer more potent, precise, and safer treatments than the existing ones. Currently, we are developing an intelligent probiotic capable of detecting and combating colorectal cancer tumors. Our passion for science and desire to improve people’s quality of life drive us to create innovative biology-based solutions.
