About Locologix (“LLX”) offers rolling stock solutions to the rail industry across Africa. We leverage our customer-centric passion, and the Gear Rail group footprint of existing regional offices and resources, to provide our customers with world-leading EMD® locomotive solutions and OEM-parts from Progress Rail, backed up by LLX’s inhouse technical and maintenance services. LLX was founded in 2022 as a venture between Gear Africa (Mauritius) and ITSRAIL (Canada). The company’s objective is to increase the regional availability of high-quality rolling stock for Africa’s railway renaissance. In 2024, Progress Rail South Africa (“PRSA”) closed their SA office and appointed LLX as a regional partner. LLX took on the dynamic PRSA staff, enhancing our highly knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled team of EMD® locomotive specialists. Parts and Inventory Management We supply EMD® OEM parts to fleet owners, assisting with parts planning to reduce lead times and improve parts availability. Long-term Spare Parts Agreements (LTPA) and OEM-standard maintenance, including onsite warehousing, enhance locomotive performance and fleet availability. Why EMD® locomotives? EMD® has a long and successful history of supplying diesel-electric locomotives to railways in Africa and continues to provide technology advancement including emissions compliance, leading fuel efficiency, reliability and maintainability. EMD® locomotives are extremely well suited for SADC freight rail operations, having: • Correct gauge • Correct weight (tonne/axle) • Suitable horsepower We advocate our “Rebuilt as New” Repower and Modernisation solutions, which optimise capital deployment, saving 35-50% of the replacement cost of a new locomotive, while extending asset-life by 20 years or more.
