About Locus Magazine: "The Guide to the World's Imagination." A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit

Locus Science Fiction Foundation (LSFF), dba Locus Publications, is an Oakland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, that runs Locus Magazine (launched in 1968, 760 issues old), administers the renowned Locus Awards, manages the literary estate of RA Lafferty, runs workshops, publishes books, and promotes SF/F literature and community through other events and projects. Locus has won 30 Hugo Awards, the most prestigious award in the global science fiction industry. Our board comprises authors like Connie Willis, Eileen Gunn, Karen Lord, and Kij Johnson. Here's what Kim Stanley Robinson says about Locus: “Locus magazine is the home-town newspaper for the science fiction community, which is a community that in this century has become one of the great centers (a locus, you might say) of all the world's cultures. As such, Locus plays a crucial role for a growing group of futurists and dreamers whose efforts help all humanity to envision the future.” Locus has been publishing since 1968, and has built a formidable community of authors, technologists, scientists, readers, and fans passionate about technology, storytelling, and the future.
