Loft is opgericht in 2016 door Tom Buysse. Tom wordt bijna letterlijk tussen de brillen geboren. Hij groeit op tussen monturen en zonnebrillen en raakte gepassioneerd door de kleine optiekwereld. Al vrij vroeg gaat hij in het buitenland op zoek naar inspiratie. In Parijs en Milaan spreekt hij voor het eerst met ontwerpers en groeit het idee om zelf iets nieuws te ondernemen.
In 2016 poot hij uiteindelijk Loft neer met een eerste winkel in Gent, uit liefde voor de stad. Hij gaat resoluut voor vernieuwing: met een visie om een unieke en met aandacht gekozen selectie brillen aan te bieden die enerzijds onderscheidend is maar vooral nog ongekend voor het grote publiek.
In 2019 opent Loft een tweede vestiging in Antwerpen. Deze winkel is de eerste flagship store van MASUNAGA.De oudste producent van brillen uit Fukui - Japan.
In maart 2021 opent Loft Amsterdam de deuren. Het charmante hoekpand in de Utrechtsestraat straalt 100% het Loft DNA uit: warm, uitnodigend en met liefde voor esthetiek.
Oktober 2022 - De allereerste eigen 'Loft Handmade Eyewear' Collectie is een feit. Een zoektocht van 2 jaar naar de mooiste kleuren en meest duurzame materialen leidde tot een prachtige collectie van 15 vormen in 3 kleuren.
