Het Landelijk Overleg Sociaal-Geneeskundigen in Opleiding (LOSGIO) bestaat al sinds de jaren tachtig, maar is op 30 juni 2016 een zelfstandige vereniging geworden voor én door AIOS sociale geneeskunde (arts Maatschappij + Gezondheid, bedrijfsarts of verzekeringsarts). Alle AIOS kunnen lid worden van het LOSGIO door lid te worden van de wetenschappelijke verenigingen NVAB, NVVG of KAMG. LOSGIO is opgericht met als doel de belangen te behartigen van alle AIOS. Het LOSGIO wil dit doen door het bewaken van én bijdragen aan de kwaliteit van de opleidingen en door een signalerende rol te spelen en zo op te komen voor de AIOS. Daarnaast richten we ons als vereniging ook op kennisverbreding, internationalisering en op leuke activiteiten waar AIOS uit verschillende deelgebieden elkaar kunnen leren kennen.
