Love 21 Foundation is a registered Hong Kong charity empowering the Down syndrome and autistic community to reach their full potential through sport and nutrition programmes. The 21 stands for the 21st chromosome, trisomy 21, which causes the genetic disorder known as Down syndrome.
SPORT
Love 21 Foundation have a minimum of eight weekly classes including Football, Basketball, Hiking, Surfing, Dancing, Tennis and Trampoline
NUTRITION
We understand that sport alone is not enough and put a strong emphasis on eating well in addition to keeping active.
EDUCATION
We have monthly cooking classes and workshops to teach our members how to make healthy dishes and the importance of doing so.
FINANCIAL
By participating in classes, members receive points which can be used to get organic vegetables and other health food products.
WHOLE FAMILY
Parents are encouraged to join many of our weekly classes and also receive points for participating. It’s so important that the whole family embraces the needed diet and lifestyle changes.
HOLISTIC APPROACH
Change is never easy. Love 21 Foundation focus on using a holistic approach to maximize its’ support and to give the greatest opportunity for empowerment to its’ beneficiaries.
PROGRAMMES
Counselling
One on one counselling further supports our beneficiaries during their lifestyle change process, fostering better communication and providing greater encouragement for our members.
Mentorship
Our sports Mentorship Programme matches beneficiaries with mentors for partnered healthy activities. Mentors and mentees work together to set personal weekly goals in an outside setting.
Community
Our Love 21 Foundation family regularly meet for special events, dinners and even go away trips. Our love filled community support and encourage each other, making our classes not only beneficial for their health, but also a lot of fun.
