MISSION: Our mission is to significantly increase literacy achievement for students with the greatest need by mobilizing and equipping a community of partners, advocates, and supporters who are committed to literacy as a key driver of student and community success. VISION: We imagine a community where every child can read, where race and zip code no longer predict educational outcomes, and where literacy strengthens every part of our community. VALUES: Hope We believe in honoring every person’s innate humanity, abilities, and potential for growth through our work and our persistent effort toward increasing childhood literacy rates. Informed We are informed by research, best practices, community, and stakeholders directly or indirectly affected by our efforts. Innovation & Discovery We commit to doing things differently than they have been done before and to always ask the questions about what and how we can do better. Community We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to help our young people read and want to support their role in literacy and its impact on the health of our community. Humility We step up, step down, come together, and sometimes step aside to ensure equity and the outcomes that are in the best interests of those we serve.
