Loveworks is based in Reigate, Surrey with a mission to improve the lives of the local community through food. Loveworks was established in 2010 and operated with a broad remit to meet community needs and got involved in a wide range of activities which included establishing foodbanks in Merstham and Woodhatch.
With a large volunteer base and a staff of three, the charity continues to offer support to more families in and around the local area, having seen a sharp increase in beneficiaries during the pandemic and on-going as the cost of living crisis continues.
Loveworks has three key areas of provision:
1. Meet emergency food needs, through the provision of food parcels to those experiencing food poverty.
2. Provide fresh produce from local allotments that we manage or in partnership with other allotment holders so that our food parcels are full of goodness.
3. Prevent the recurrence of food poverty through signposting, education and partnerships so that we can support people to not need us again.
Our foodbanks works on a referrals basis to ensure that beneficiaries are getting all the help they need in addition to food. To carry out this essential work we also work closely with community groups and other support agencies.
