LERC’s UK-based operating subsidiary Low Emissions Resources Global Ltd. (LERG) is situated in Dundee, Scotland and is a fully-equipped high-tech, proton-conducting ceramics laboratory and testing facility with a diverse, global team of advanced-degree scientists. LERG’s Dundee facility can iteratively test via button cells and full-fledged tubular cells of varying lengths, material combinations and fabrication techniques. Since 2017 LERG has been affiliated with the nearby University of St Andrews Electrochemistry Department headed by Prof. John Irvine. The research carried out in this facility is targeted to advance green, cost-efficient hydrogen synthesis technology with the aim to make Scotland a leader in the new and burgeoning zero-carbon hydrogen economy.
