We started LowMedBill to create price transparency in an unfair industry that charges wildly differing prices for the same procedures and drugs - with the poorest people paying the most. Millions of people every year are hit with a sky-high medical bill they weren’t expecting, which leaves them feeling overwhelmed and powerless and we knew technology could help people fight back and save money. Users simply upload their itemized medical bill(s) by snapping a picture or upload an softcopy from their computer. We compare each charge to reasonable insurance reimbursement rates and generate a custom dispute letter that includes reimbursement amounts and potential savings, so it can be used to negotiate with the hospital or provider to help make a compelling case on behalf of the patient.
