Through the LOWNOISER project 15 European partners will tackle the often-overlooked problem of underwater noise pollution caused by maritime traffic.
Underwater noise pollution from shipping poses significant threats to marine ecosystems, disrupting essential marine species' behaviors, such as communication, navigation, and reproduction.
With €6,3 million in funding from the European Union, the 15 project partners aim to develop innovative noise reduction technologies, establish regulatory standards, and advance industry practices to protect marine habitats.
