Law and Society Organization at UCR

-MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of this organization shall be: to create a space that provides networking possibilities for students trying to reach career paths within Law, Law enforcement, and Social work. There will also be opportunities to mentor others within the organization to best equip them in the processes needed to attain specific careers. The intended impact of the organization on the university community is to allow students, that are often first-generation students, the opportunity to network and gain information directly from professionals practicing in the aforementioned fields. The goal is to encourage students to use this information to build and obtain skills, such as networking and organizational skills, that may be needed for future employment opportunities. These steps may include looking at: where to apply, application deadlines, specific requirements, offering networking opportunities with both peers and professionals, and overall resources to pursue a higher education. It is important to have the Law and Society organization on campus because it will provide the students with resources and guidance in choosing their career path among the specified fields. We also hope to overall enrich their knowledge about the career they hope to attain.-
