We coach young people through difficult and transitional stages in their educational and emotional journey through the provision of mentors and tutors. Ludowide is providing an opportunity for us to examine afresh what we mean by education, what children should be learning at school, and how we can support children to grow into confident, compassionate young people. Our Tutors’ role is to grow creativity in the child - the ability to think round problem, see past a hurdle, play outside the box. Ludowide engages the whole child. It addresses children’s potential and builds the resilience and self-belief which form the foundation of success. Rather than seeking to remove challenge and make life easier for children, Ludowide enables them to see the energy which is released in perseverance, and the possibilities presented by the imagination. Ludowide promotes a young person’s self-esteem – that their opinion is valid - academic and emotional, their judgment can be trusted, that they can do it themselves. As self-belief grows, so does courage. Determination and perseverance replace anxiety and self-doubt. Academic attainment follows naturally. By fostering courage and determination, Ludowide leads children by the hand, exploring the possibilities that open up through learning without limits.
