Founded in 2007 at Milan Malpensa airport as Lufthansa Technik Component Services Milan and renamed Lufthansa Technik Milan in 2009, the fully owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG specializes in providing a full range of aircraft maintenance services, 24/7 AOG (aircraft on ground) recovery, as well as logistics services.
Due to rising demand for aircraft services in Italy, Lufthansa Technik Milan has been able to grow steadily and it is today the major aircraft maintenance provider in Malpensa airport. It operates round the clock a modern 6,400 square meters hangar that can accommodate up to four narrowbodies or one widebody plus two narrowbodies at the same time and a separate hangar of 1,500 square meters for one narrowbody. It also has a temperature and humidity controlled material warehouse of 2,000 square meters with more than 1,000 partnumbers of consumables material and a sheet metal shop, therefore from single maintenance events to full support programs for Milan-based operators, every request can be catered for.
Lufthansa Technik Milan current capability includes the Airbus A320 Family, A330, A350 and Boeing 777, 787. Since September 2010 Lufthansa Technik Milan is approved for A-Checks on A330 and Base Maintenance on A320 Family enabling it to carry out more extensive maintenance work at the Milan base like for example engine and APU changes, structural repairs, complex modification, engine washes, air turbine tests, borescope inspections and full engine run-ups amongst other services. Lufthansa Technik Milan employs about 100 and is an integral part of Lufthansa Technik AG. Thanks to the numerous daily connections between Malpensa and the main Lufthansa Technik Group basis, it benefits from fast access to the resources of the entire network. As a full-service provider company, Lufthansa Technik Milan can now offer its customers all the services in the shortest turn-around time and at competitive costs.
