The Systems Biology Lab of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) was founded in 2019 by Prof. Dr. Edroaldo Lummertz da Rocha with the mission of understanding how cells communicate, organize, and adapt across health and disease.
Our research focuses on the integration of single-cell transcriptomics, cell-cell communication analysis, and computational biology to uncover the molecular logic behind tissue development, immune responses, aging, cancer and other systemic diseases.
Bridging experimental biology and data science, we develop and apply bioinformatics tools to analyze large-scale datasets and identify therapeutic targets.
Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to advancing precision medicine and fostering innovation through open science, collaboration, and training of young scientists.
