LUMS Data Science Society

The LUMS Data Science Society is a student organization which aims to develop a thorough understanding of the career tracks, tools and techniques and key developments in the field of Data Science. Our vision is to foster a community of data-driven problem solvers who, regardless of their major, can extract actionable insights from the data they interface with during their daily lives. Our mission is to empower students to be independent learners through a structured curriculum taught by post-graduate students, guest lecturers, corporate professionals and fellow undergraduates. The goal is to take students on a journey from basic descriptive analytics to developing machine learning models of decent complexity. We hope that this educational program will enable the community to appreciate the value generated by practitioners of Data Science and aid them in incorporating statistical reasoning in the research-work they pursue. Moreover, we also hope that this platform will keep the curious ones engaged through fresh content that sheds light on new developments in the field so that we, as a community, are always expanding our horizons.
