Laboratory of Mechanics of Materials at LUT has been active in the field of design and technical strength analysis of metallic parts and components in Finland. The mechanical performance of steel structures made of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels, light metals and advanced alloys in different environmental conditions has been the key area in the research and educational work. The studies include a mixture of experimental, modelling and simulation approaches for design and analysis purposes.
