Municipal Bond Information Services (MBIS) provides municipal data and market indicators to promote improved price transparency and enhance monitoring and pricing practices. MBIS is a group of eleven firms, including ten that specialize in municipal inter-dealer brokerage, that have assembled to create a consortium for the purpose of aggregating the market data generated by businesses of these entities. MBIS’ goal is to promote improved municipal market price transparency and enhance monitoring and pricing practices through a variety of approaches and services offered: - Reach a broad audience of Municipal Market Investors and Market Professionals with data that will improve their understanding of market pricing, available inventory, and assist them in making more informed investment decisions. - Improve the quality of municipal market information within Institutions to improve operating processes related to valuation and price monitoring of key accounting and client reporting systems.
