We are a group of volunteers, formed in 2012, who try to make a difference by helping our Local NHS. Lots of us are Motorcyclists, but we also have volunteers who don’t ride bikes.
We provide this service to the NHS for FREE to help reduce NHS transport expenses, Thereby allowing these funds to be used to improve patients treatment etc.
It is all down to our small army of loyal volunteers and everyone who supports us for helping us achieve our goal.
Our “VOLUNTEERS“ include Riders, Dispatchers and Fundraisers. The Riders are full motorcycle licence holders with at least 24 months riding experience, with a clean licence and no accidents, a number of our riders are also ‘Advanced’ riders with IAM or ROSPA qualifications, and they undergo regular reviews of their skills.
Our fantastic Volunteers don’t just give up their time to serve the community and potentially save lives. FOR FREE. they also pay for their own fuel, and put many many miles on their beloved motorcycles – ALL FOR FREE! They do this in the knowledge that they will probably never meet the beneficiary and that the same person will probably never know of the Blood Biker service nor that it played any part in their recovery.
