Our Story started in 1988. That is the year Mati Vetevool founded a company called Vihterpalu Fishing Association. In 1994 we had the company rebranded to M.V.Wool AS and the new name is being used to this day.
At first we used what local fishermen caught to make our products, but as we grew year by year we saw that we needed something more reliable to make it into the retail market. So we started buying Salmon from a company in Norway called Leroy, which is one of the biggest salmon farming companies in the world today. The year 1997 was when we started importing salmon from Norway and that was the year we got our first export client - Aeroflot. From there on our company started growing in a fast pace. Until 2010 we had only one processing plant, located in Vihterpalu. In 2010 a new factory was built with the goal to expand our export market. It is one of the most modern factories in Northern Europe and only Salmon and Trout are processed there. Harku factory has IFS Food certification and is the biggest salmon and trout processing factory in Estonia. The production capacity is circa 5000 tonnes of smoked and salted product. The main priority of our company has and always will be producing safe and high quality products.
We are proud to call our company a family owned business which includes three active generations of family members today.
