About MAASAUS
MAASAUS is a community based non-profit Indigenous people’s development organization and especially serve for the ethnic people of Northern part of Bangladesh. MAASAUS is a local indigenous organization established on January 01, 2000 and registered from Social Welfare Department, Rajshahi on November 14, 2001 (Registration No. RAJSHA-641/2001). It works in the area of Rajshahi City Corporation and three adjacent sub-districts (Paba, Godagari & Tanore). It has started it journey working with single indigenous community i.e. Mahle and presently it also work with Santal, Paharia, Kamar and Oraon. MAASAUS has also expanded it’s work with the majority Bengali Community too. It has a total of 11000-targeted populations of these communities. MAASAUS has a good acceptance to these communities as most of the staff members of this organization are from indigenous community. MAASAUS works in the field of indigenous cultural activities development, child education, social structure strengthening, human rights, Mother and Child care, land rights, disaster management, group savings, Peace Building, Multi-linguistic Education, Youth Development & Mobilization, Social Accountability, processing & marketing of bamboo products etc. The organization mostly works through local resource mobilization and link with resource organization.
